It's time to rethink summer vacation

Milwaukee kids need to spend more time in school, and over the next few months there is going to be a robust debate about what it will take to get that done. Summer vacation is too long. Studies show that kids lose up to two months of what they learned in school over summer break. Many probably lose more if they spend more time in front of the television than reading a book or attending summer school.
